What is Midtown?

It’s a top-quality Corpus-Christi apartment community designed especially with TAMUCC students in mind. Midtown features a variety of spacious, furnished apartments plus a full set of community features such as a resort-style pool, community clubhouse and gaming space, 24-hour fitness center, sand volleyball court, soccer field and more – all convenient to school, restaurants and entertainment.

Is Midtown part of Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi?

Midtown is a privately owned and professionally managed community. Click here for more information about the management and ownership.

Can I live with friends, or can you match me with roommates?

You can select your roommate(s), or you can apply on your own and we can match you with other students. Applicants answer a short list of lifestyle questions to help in the matching process.

What are per-person contracts?

Instead of requiring all roommates to sign a joint lease, each person at Midtown has their own individual contract, with one person per bedroom. This means you are only responsible for paying for yourself — not your roommates. Even if a roommate moves out or other bedrooms in your apartment are empty, you only pay the rate for your bedroom.

What is included in the rate?

Each resident at Midtown pays a flat rate that includes:

  • Furnishings
  • In-unit laundry
  • High-speed internet
  • Trash disposal
  • Community features –pool, fitness center, etc.

What size are the apartments?

The spacious accommodations at Midtown range from 2, 3 and 4 bedroom apartments, with a private bedroom-bathroom suite for each resident.

Are the apartments furnished?

Yes, all apartments at Midtown have a furniture package that includes a full-size bed, desk and chair, and stackable dresser drawers in each bedroom. The living area includes a sofa, chair, coffee table and entertainment stand, as well as a dining table and barstools. To see a sample of the furniture and other finishes, please visit our model apartment.

When do the contracts start and end?

The standard term is August 18, 2023 to July 29, 2024, with payments made in 12 equal installments. Limited alternate dates are available; please inquire with our staff. Click here for a sample agreement.

Is a co-signer or financial guaranty required?

Within 7 days after a Housing Agreement is signed, each resident is required to do one of two things: provide a qualifying guarantor (often a parent), or pre-pay the final 2 installments.

Can I pay by credit card?

Yes. Residents can pay online 24 hours per day, by credit card or ACH electronic checking. Midtown also offers automatic payment by either credit card or checking account — just fill out one page, one time and payments will be made automatically. Convenience fees apply for credit card and debit card payments.

Will my financial aid cover charges at Midtown?

Your living costs at Midtown can be covered by financial aid, just like on-campus housing. Any available financial aid funds, after university charges are satisfied, are released to the student for non-institutional expenses, such as off-campus housing. These funds can be used to pay charges at Midtown. Normal payment deadlines will continue to apply.

Is Midtown open to non-students?

Nearly all the residents at Midtown are students at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. The per-person contracts are also designed with students in mind. Nonetheless, Midtown is an Equal Opportunity housing provider and welcomes applications from non-students. Family members are welcome as well, subject to occupancy limits. Because of the need to match student roommates, non-students must apply together with enough roommates to fill the desired residence.

What kind of safety and security are provided?

Midtown has a monitored fire-sprinkler system, along with electronic locks plus individually locking bedroom doors. Community courtesy patrols are provided at select times. Management staff are also available 24×7 and can be reached by a 24-hour phone number.

What are the policies on pets, smoking and guests?

Midtown is a pet-friendly community, subject to limits on animals and breeds. The community is smoke-free in all indoor and adjacent spaces. Guests are welcome at all times, subject to the consent of roommates and security considerations. Overnight guests are welcome, with limits on the number of days and guests.

Can I park my vehicle at Midtown?

Midtown offers free on-site parking for residents.

What other transportation options will I have?

The TAMUCC off-campus shuttle bus service stops right in front of the community, and runs to campus weekdays from 6am to 8pm when class is in session.

Can I see a model apartment?

Yes. Please request an appointment for a personal tour, or just stop by to see us and we’ll be happy to show you the community.
